On the morning of February 3rd two new electric buses from the Czech producer SOR left on their regular BB1 and BB2 lines connecting the multifunctional BB Centrum complex with the Budějovická metro station on the C line in Prague 4. They are the first electric buses to be deployed in regular operations in Prague mass transit that passengers can use free of charge. Representatives of the development and investment company PASSERINVEST GROUP, the ČEZ group and the ARRIVA transportation company ceremoniously launched the electric buses and put them into operation as part of a joint project aimed at decreasing the burden on the environment, primarily in cities. In addition to being able to travel free of charge, the passengers also appreciated other benefits, including the less noise produced by the electric buses and the increased number of connections.

Na včerejší magické datum 2. 2. připadlo komorní setkání v Síni slávy českého hokeje v Galerii Harfa v Praze, během kterého byl předán obchodnímu a administrativnímu centru Galerie Harfa certifikát energetické a environmentální úspornosti LEED EB:OM Gold. Jedinečnost získaného certifikátu spočívá především v tom, že certifikace probíhala u nákupního centra, které je navíc již 5 let v provozu. Výsledný certifikát tudíž odráží reálný výkon a parametry centra, na rozdíl od certifikátů, jež bývají udělovány projektům ještě před jejich realizací. Na celém světě je pouze 24 nákupních center s certifikátem LEED pro stávající budovy a jenom 2 nákupní centra (v Dubaji a Singapuru) získala lepší hodnocení než Galerie Harfa. Díky provedení certifikace dosáhla Galerie Harfa úsporu energie ve výši 6,1 %, snížila spotřebu vody a celkově zlepšila kvalitu vnitřního prostředí centra.

What primarily makes the acquired certificate unique is that the certification was performed for a shopping centre (interest in certification is far more common for office buildings), which has moreover already been operating for 5 years. In the LEED system the LEED for Existing Buildings: Operation & Maintenance (LEED EB:OM) certificate is designated for such certification, as it reflects the true performance and parameters of the centre, unlike the certificates that tend to be given to projects before they are built. There are only 24 shopping centres throughout the world with a LEED certificate for existing buildings. Only two shopping centres (in Dubai and Singapore) have received a better rating than Galerie Harfa. Thanks to the performance of the certification Galerie Harfa achieved energy savings in the amount of 6.1 %, decreased the consumption of water and generally improved the quality of the centre’s internal environment.
