The project was designed and implemented for the Rio Mare brand of tuna products from Bolton Czechia, spol. s r.o. It belongs to the Bolton Group, which is a dynamically-growing international company producing and introducing to the market a wide range of quality consumer products, which are present in more than 125 countries all over the world.
SUMMARY OF PROJECT
The Snack of the Year competition is meant for individual students of secondary vocational school with a focus on gastronomy and restaurant services. A maximum of 5 students from each of the participating schools can apply. The contestants' goal is to contrive and prepare an original, fast, modern and cold snack with the use of Rio Mare products. The meal must be creative, tasty and usable as a school snack.
DESCRIPTION OF IMPLEMENTED PHASES AND PROJECT ACTIVITIES
The competition has two rounds. In the first correspondence round the competitors sent a photograph and description of a snack and the professional panel of judges chose 12 finalists from them. In the live final round in a modern kitchen studio the participants prepared their snacks in front of the professional panel of judges. The best competitors receive a voucher for the selection of goods from an e-shop as well as Rio Mare products.
SUMMARY OF RESULTS ACHIEVED WITH AN EMPHASIS ON THE PROJECT'S EFFECTS WITH REGARD TO BUSINESS, THE COMMERCIAL RESULTS AND CLIENT'S REPUTATION
The course of the competition is communicated to the media for the entire duration (country-wide, regional and professional media) through public relations tools. The participating schools inform of the competition on their web pages and social networks. In the year 2014 a total of 112 participants from 31 secondary schools and 10 regions of the Czech Republic applied to the competition. Last year there were 123 media reports in printed and Internet media.
